A stone farmhouse in the Umbrian hills — a saltwater pool, a wood-fired pizza oven and eighty olive trees.
Trattino is the Italian word for the dash — the small mark that joins two things together. Our house is just that: a link between busy lives and the unhurried rhythm of the Umbrian countryside.
Built on the site of an ancient Etruscan tomb, Casa Trattino sits in its own land just outside Città della Pieve, with olive groves and fruit trees to wander through and views across the hills. Inside, it's a family home: terracotta floors, beamed ceilings, a cosy living room with a stove, and five bedrooms — all air-conditioned. Outside, there's a saltwater pool, a covered terrace for long lunches and a proper Italian grill and pizza oven for the evenings.

A saltwater pool set in the lawn, with loungers and views to the hills. Luca comes every day to look after the pool and the grounds.
An authentic Italian grill and wood-fired pizza oven beside the covered terrace — made for long dinners outside.
Eighty olive trees that give us our own olive oil, fruit trees, and land to walk and explore — plus a play area for children.
Five bedrooms, all with air-conditioning, three bathrooms and an extra toilet.
A projector with Apple TV and Sonos surround sound for film nights, and a wine cellar downstairs.
Wi-Fi by cable and Starlink, solar panels, and a Tesla charger for electric cars.

On the border of Umbria and Tuscany, Città della Pieve is a red-brick hill town with wonderful restaurants. Days here are for exploring nearby hill towns like Monteleone d'Orvieto, or simply staying by the pool.
